"Meat" Ms. Marg Harris

Being a Woman of Sound Mind and Some what Strong Body; I have strong convictions in what I believe in and like to surround myself with only equal counterparts.  Like minded people if you will.  Birds of a feather flock together.  You development from your environment.  You are what you eat.  The spirit inside connecting on all levels with like spirits within the Universe.

Sorry people...there are whack jobs lurking beyond every street corner within our neighborhoods! I have found there are no two people designed a like.  Thank Goodness.  True, we can flock to gentle souls that mirror our inner essence of our beings but there will always be one Black Sheep within that flock.  You know the ONE that just can't seem to Get Right?

I recently made note in my Blog  that I had connected with a group of Women that shared a passion for fashion.  Among this group of 119, 327 followers there has been a select group of about a half of a dozen that have found my personality to be a little over the top.  LOL  Who moi?  Surely Not...Get over it Sisters!  I am who I am....there is nothing wrong with me in my opinion.  I am very gracious, kind hearted, loyal to my friends, trustworthy and generous.  I am not a member of the Mean Girl Society.  Quite truthfully just the opposite.  But I am a strong woman who is very confident and secure with who I am and truthfully have a bubbly personality.  Kooky if you will, eccentric...

So this is how it unfolds...On Friday Night a woman from Scottsdale, AZ made a post in front of these 119,327 followers in the live World of Cyberspace.  Here is the exact post:

Tonya, you've been shouting and demanding that everyone pay attention to you and only you since your first post on this board. If I recall, you also praised the sense of community. Being part of a community means you respect others, the views of others, and don't try to monopolize every thread all the time by turning it into your personal view of what’s stylish and fashionable. You said you have a blog - use that to shout to those who want to listen to you.

Summer Sales and the Living is EZ

Next weekend is the 4th of July....Halfway point of 2011....Wow!  Where oh where has the time gone?  Hustle and bustle...fast and furious!  Somedays I feel as if I am on fast forward and can't hit the stop button.  I pledge that next weekend I am going to sssslllllooooowwwww down and enjoy my three days off from the station.  A must needed trip to the Lake is calling my name like a lover from my past.  Oh how I love thee Summer time!

Especially Summer Sales!  Now is a great time to replenish your Summer Spring Wardrobe.  All the stores will be forced to start reducing their summer merchandise so they can Fall into the New Styles of the season.....Fall!  On a day when it's 100 degrees outside, I imagine one doesn't want to think about Fall.  But to grab some fabulous sexy summer sandals at 50% off sounds more heat resistant and will put you into a HOT Trot of a stride!  Since I Heart you I will tell you now that next week Dillards will be having their 30% off all sale merchandise....This is the best time to pick up shoes!

Also, around the 5th of July you will see the first mark downs on Swimwear.  Yes, I have friends in retail places....

Today I have been doing a little bit of online investigating....like a private eye, searching for the most wanted items on my wish list.

Color Block Dress from Talbots

This lovely crinkled sundress is currently on Sale at Talbots and would be perfect for a summer vacation or casual soiree.  I love dresses in the Summer.  Throw on a cute pair of metallic silver wedge sandals and you will be ready to take on the day.  So cool and comfortable.  Great Colors to compliment a Summer tan!

The chic stripes on this modern tank are highlighted with rows of sequins for a touch of luxe and is available at Ann Taylor.  It is on sale and is too cute....I have it in red and white.  Also, available in tangerine.  Why be basic when you can shine it up with a little bling?  To be worn as a great layering piece or for those with Michelle Obama arms, then Wear it like you own it!

Michael Michael Kors from Macy's
A new layering favorite, this trend-right on fashionable target MICHAEL Michael Kors cardigan adds chic draped style to tees, tanks, dresses and more.  Throw this over the sequin tank and a pair of Denim Boyfriends rolled up with a pair of fabulous sandals.  Also, pair this cardi with the color block dress...Two outfits in one.  When you buy a piece of clothing you need to have three ways to wear your new pretty.  That is my rule of thumb.   Effortlessly chic in a mere Snap 1-2-3

These are just a few of the things I am loving at the moment.  If you want to dish about the latest and the greatest....please chat me up!  I am always ready to talk about my passion for fashion!

Oh and one last comment.  It is so hot outside so make sure you refresh yourself with plenty of adult beverages....but please don't drink the Hater Aid....You know who I am talking about!  If the salt hits the wound then I am talking about you!

It's a CINCH Part II

Good morning Lovelies...and Happy Father's Day to any Men that might just be reading my blog!  It's okay, I promise....don't be in denial!  I know you love reading my blog....so just come on out of the closet and join me and all the other Beautiful Fashionista Grown ARSE Women.  Big Sigh ~~~~~~~  Don't you feel better now by confessing?

My new found love of belts inspired this GAW to embark on a shopping mission yesterday searching for belts.  Now I am NOT just talking about any ole ordinary belt either!  It has to be worthy enough to leave the Retailers Orphanage and come home with Momma.  After all, I will love my little pretties on a daily basis.  I will wear them with pride and showcase them to the world to see....Boy, Was I ever disappointed.

Maybe my expectations of finding the perfect belt is so far beyond reality that I might need to lower my fashion standards!  STOP.....That will NEVER happen!  So after a day of searching for my perfect new lover, I come home unsatisfied! BAD BAD BAD....Me NO LIKEY not being a GAW that is satisfied!

At last I am home on a Saturday Night with my best friend...my laptop!  We have bonded over the last several years and she (laptop) knows all of my dirty little secrets.  She (laptop) recognizes my touch and knows where my fingers have searched....ONLINE SHOPPING SITES!

I figure if I were not able to find any belts worthy enough to reside in my wardrobe heaven in the great city of Fort Smith then I would just go beyond my reach and explore all the possibilities out there in this great big world of shopping known better as Online shopping!  After many hours of searching and fatigue I was able to find some pretty good choices.

However, I did not pull the trigger and purchase any due to my new found rule of buying!

NEW FOUND RULE:  When I find something that I truly like I have to wait three days before I make the purchase!  This requires a lot of strength as my weakness of impulse buying is so great!  Three days of thinking, evaluating, pondering. loss of sleep, tormenting, etc.  After these three days if I am still in LOVE with such item then I give my self permission to buy the item.

Wow, I just had an Oprah AH HA moment!  Can you imagine the agony we GAW put Men through in the world of courtship!  They desire our presence and being of good morals and proper etiquette we make MEN WAIT AND WAIT AND WAIT.....LOL  (Evil Laughter)

Okay, enough of the Romance Department...after all this blog is about BELTS!

Please help me decide which belts are incredibly beautiful and will empower my wardrobe!
Love this Vince Camuto Belt

Vince Camuto 'Nellie' Wide Leather Belt

My thoughts on this belt when my eyes first laid sight was Michelle Obama Style.  This belt is rockin' hot!  It can be worn to the office or a night on the town.  I think I love you!
Nine West Belt, Wide Patent

Nine West Belt, Wide Patent

Just like a Great Red Pump to give your outfit the POP of color it needs; this NINE WEST Red Patent Belt can Drop it like it's Hot!  This belt has tremendous possibilities!  Pair it with animal prints, black, denim, white, khaki, navy....Yes, every GAW needs a RED PUMP and A RED BELT in her life.

MICHAEL Michael Kors Belt, Wide Python
Get a little wild with this python-print leather belt by MICHAEL Michael Kors.
I LOVE Michael Kors as if he were part of my family!  This belt just BURNS my eyes!  Words alone could never give you my true fashion interpretation of what I could do with this little number!  My heart is beating a little fast as I type just thinking of all the compromising places to wear and turn heads!

Now after reading my blog you can see the dilemma I am faced with!  But remember I now have my three day rule to follow.

One last thought!  I am not a beggar by nature but if all that reads this blog would feel generous enough to help contribute to my cause by sending in just $5.00 I could purchase all of these belts at once.  Instead of stalking them like ex Boyfriends until they go on sale!

Hey, it's worth a try!

Hmmmm....another Oprah light bulb moment!  What if I were to make a sign and go stand on the busiest intersection of Fort Smith...Do you think I would collect enough dollars to support my belt fantasy wish list?  Just sayin'

It's a CINCH!!!

Ahhhh....Friday!  What a lovely ending to a wonderful week!  Anyone that knows me realizes that I have a certain penchant for fashion....that I am a clothes horse.....that sometimes I can't catch my breath when I walk into a Department Store....that I have a Passion for Fashion.....a typical good day involves fashion....I will loose sleep over obsessing about a certain handbag or shoe....I plan my outfits months in advance for special occasions....I love accessories.....my ultimate number one fashion accessory is a fabulous pair of shoes...the right high heel has the ability to make a grown man turn his head and watch you strut your stuff.  Yes, I guess that sums up how I feel about Fashion!

So it was only natural for me to fall in love with a Community of Women that also share the same common bond...a thread that weaves us together like a perfectly sewn dress and keeps our stylish flair in place.  This past week these wonderful women have inspired me, helped me with fashion dilemma's and through this group of women I have discovered a new accessory that has transformed my daily fashion outlook and given me a renewed sense of style to my wardrobe.  What is this item you might ask?

BELTS!

Who would of thought a simple belt would turn my basic every day skirt and cardigan into a fashionable sophisticate look and would reveal a new woman!  Now don't get me wrong, belts will NEVER replace my love affair with SHOES!  But the right belt can CHANGE YOUR LIFE....Trust me!  It has changed my life!!!!

The first belt I purchased this week was a skinny snakeskin belt in Hot Pink!  Yes, hot pink....

New Skinny Belt In HOT PINK

You can not see my shoes but I also am wearing a pair of Hot Pink open toe pumps!  I got so excited over the possibilities of what my new found accessory could do for this GAW that I purchased SEVERAL.  I will not disclose how many belts I purchased in fear of self-derogation of my character.  Plus I don't want anyone to think that I am bona fide certifiable...after all I DO NOT WORK FOR THE GOVERNOR!

When Michelle Obama became FIRST LADY I was enthused of her style and fell in love with her ability to accessorize with belts!

See what a Belt will do to your outfit?  It will turn your every day look into a show stopper!  Needless to say you will now see me wearing a LOT OF BELTS!

Currently I am obsessing over this belt from Nordstrom's

Lauren by Ralph Lauren Patent Stretch Belt (Plus)
Ralph Lauren Wide Black Patent Belt
By adding this Black Belt to my wardrobe I will be able to transform some wonderful new outfits.  Belts are a very affordable way to update your look.  Go ahead and buckle up!  Life is way too short not to be Fashionable.

Breaking Up is HARD TO DO

Breaking up is HARD TO DO!  I am a very loyal woman and will stay in the most uncomfortable relationship even when my needs are not being met or the thought of the "Grass being Greener" on the other side.  Sometimes it's good to just "break" and start anew...allow yourself the freedom to explore and perhaps fall in love again!
Breaking up is HARD TO DO

STOP...No, I am not talking about my husband.

I am talking about my Hairstylist.  It's a bittersweet relationship with my hair stylist.  She has been there to support my decisions of lowlights or highlights, she has encouraged me to stop defying my natural curl by NOT using a CHI on my hair after I burnt my bangs to a crisp fried mess.  She has talked me into growing my hair out and not allowed me to do such drastic measures as in cutting all my hair off in a pixie when I am an emotional wreck (in other words PMS).  She has been my cheerleader, my supporter, my therapist, my sounding board to listen to whatever drama is happening in my life at that given hair appointment.  Yes, it's a bittersweet moment but I am afraid it's time.....

Dumping my Stylist...A Bittersweet Moment

This week I have a hair appointment with a new stylist who specializes in Aveda Color.  The thought of my hair being held, stroked, massaged and played with by someone new is very exciting.  I dream she will transform my color and cut into a spectacular new version of Tonya.  The thought of the two of us  falling in love with each other as hair stylist and client is so exciting.  I am hoping our relationship will mature and blossom into a wonderful coif companionship.
Today I have some pent up nervous energy just thinking that in three days my destiny will change and my life will become a whirlwind romance of new shades of blonds weaved through my tresses.  The palms of my hands are somewhat sweaty in anticipation of how she will cut my hair and if I will be able to live with my new hairstyle the next day after she has loved me and left me.

As I reflect over the last five years I have NOT been happy with my current status and I am looking forward to the new Hair Chapter in my life.

All I can say "I hope my hair loves my new stylist"

Slave to Fashion

WOW...what a roller coaster ride I live in the daily life of Fashion!  I am so thankful that I do not smoke or gamble or have any other substance addiction....My addiction to Shopping is all one GAW can handle!

You know I have a wonderful husband as he says it's not an addiction but the fact I need to have nice clothes and accessories due to my line of work!  He is the best husband and so understanding of my shopping and helps me justify my shopping behavior!  He even tells me when Dillard's is having a Shoe sale!

I am almost too embarrassed to blog about some of my stories for the sake of Fashion that have occurred throughout the years!  However, my blogging is some what therapeutic in more ways than I can express.

It is away to release my thoughts, my rants, my inspirational ideas, my silly antics, my eccentric behaviors, my desires, my dreams, my goals, my fears, my reasoning....blogging has become my voice of sanity if you will.  Check 1-2-3-4-5....Yes, this is a test....WHEW...I am SANE!  Some days I feel a little out of touch with reality.  Some of the things I do or say make even this GAW question my motiffs.

For instance, handbags!  Why in the hello have I been on a binge of handbag shopping lately?

I remember the first designer handbag I ever owned!  It was given to me by my Aunt Sandra when I turned 16 years old.  It was a Navy and Red Gucci Doctor's style handbag...I was in LOVE!  This would be the beginning of my handbag addiction.

The Gucci came with it's registration card to send in for warranty protection and it also came with a dust cloth.  A young girl at the age of 16 in the year of 1985 had her very first designer handbag.  This is when the PROBLEM BEGAN!
This is the Gucci Navy and Red Doctor Satchel
Top Zip with Short handles to be worn on the crook of your elbow or carried by handle

Trust me...THE PROBLEM BEGAN!

My love for designer handbags has continued to grow into a collection of styles, colors, brands and sizes.  For I do not discriminate against designers for the love of a handbag!

When I left home at the age of 19 I only took a few of my personal items and left behind my teenage bedroom on Plantation Drive.  In my room was a vast collection of love letters, yearbooks, photos from memories past, prom dresses, beauty pageant dresses, crowns and tiaras, pom pom's, makeup, Elvis Presley and other teen idol worship trivial keepsakes and my Gucci Doctor bag in it's dust bag.  I left behind all of my worldly teenage girl possessions knowing they would be in good hands of my beloved mother.

As the years past, my parents have since moved and built a new home and my belongings were all packed away and put in storage.  My mother WOULD NEVER get rid of any of my worldly teenage keepsakes.  For she is just a sentimental as I....STOP!

Here comes the truth!

So its been what, 23 years since I was 19 and left home.  Right?  I am 42 so if I did my math correctly it would be 23...my son is 21... I believe that is correct...23 years has passed.

I called my mom a few months ago and said "Hey, Mom...Do you remember my Gucci Doctor's Bag?"  She said "Yes, I do!  Why?"

I explained to her that everything Vintage (OLD) is New again and I would like to start using my Gucci again.  My loving Mother said "Oh, Tonya...Don't make me go through storage looking for that Gucci Handbag!"  I said "YES! PLEASE"

OH MY DEAR LAWD....

On the other end of the phone there was complete silence.  A matter of seconds turned into a minute before she said "I SOLD YOUR GUCCI HANDBAG IN A GARAGE SALE WHEN WE MOVED FROM PLANTATION DRIVE!"

WHAT?  You SOLD MY FREAKING GUCCI HANDBAG that Would NOW BE A VINTAGE GUCCI?

"Yes, Tonya...along with your Michael Jackson Red Leather Jacket"

Yes, I owned a Hideous Thriller Leather Michael Jackson Jacket

Sold in my Mom's Garage sale for probably less than $5.00

The Holidays this year are going to be pretty tough....I hold Grudges.  Just sayin'  a 42 year old GAW would love to rock a Vintage Gucci Handbag and bust a move in a Michael Jackson Leather Thriller Jacket!

I will tell you that I was a SLAVE to fashion...I went through a Madonna Stage too!  Stay Tuned....

I Got Shellaced Today!

Yesterday I was visiting an advertiser and notice her lovely nails polished a shade of Hot Pink.  I asked her if the polish was OPI and she replied "No, it's Shellac Polish".

I have heard about Shellac Polish but yet to try this new found product.  Her nails were beautiful as if she just left the Nail Salon.  Surprisingly she said they were a week old!  A week old?  Surely NOT!  She said that Shellac will last up to three weeks!  Three weeks?  Surely NOT!

My nails are natural and not artificial....My client's nails are also natural.  We both joked how people accuse us of having artificial nails.  Ha!  Anyway I was so impressed by her manicure that I asked for her manicurist's name and number.

Today I called "Kandee" the manicurist that specializes in Shellac and it just so happened she had a cancellation for today during lunch.   Violia!  I got Shellaced during lunch.

Get Shellaced!
The color I chosed is called Tropix which is a beautiful coral shade.   The benefit of getting Shellaced is a long lasting manicure without any nicks, chips and smudges.  Kandee (Manicurist) said it should last up to three weeks.  However, the Shellac Website says two weeks.  At any rate, I will be giving you an update on how long my Shellac manicure really lasts and if it is worth the investment.    Please send me a private message if you're curious in knowing how much I paid for my Shellac manicure.
Tropix Coral Shade

The whole process took approximately 45 minutes.  The technique was backwards from a normal manicure.  She cleaned my nail bed with nail polish remover first, then took an orange stick to push back my cuticle.  Next she used a base coat, then two layers of Shellac and finally a top coat.  After each application I had to insert my hand into a special compact machine with a light to set the polish.

After the final top coat was sealed and dried she then took a white cotton cloth with acetone nail polish remover and gently cleaned the surface!  Not a single trace of nail polish came off on the white cotton cloth.  Then finally she gave me a hand massage with lotion!  Yes, she massaged my hands last and my nails did NOT smudge....they were completely DRY!  DRY as if I had a manicure three days ago.  There was no "tacky" touch...you know the fear you might mess your nails up?

Amazing results...but let's see if it will last up to three weeks.  Stay tuned...

Tonight when I got home from the office I made a simple quick easy fruit salad.

In a Bowl I layered the following fruits:
  • One Sliced Banana
  • One Sliced Kiwi
  • Two Large Sliced Strawberries
  • Last I layered One container of Strawberry Low Fat Yogurt
SO GOOD!!!!
Sliced Bananas
Sliced Kiwi
Sliced Strawberries

Fresh Fruit Salad...So Yummie and Low in Fat  Better than a Bowl of Ice Cream (WELL MAYBE)

Until next time...

Authentic Self

Yesterday morning we loaded up and headed for a day trip to Lake Tenkiller.  For all of my Central Arkansas followers; Lake Tenkiller is just about 45 miles from Fort Smith in Oklahoma.  Yes, I know....booo OSU!  But the Lake is really convenient for a day trip.

My heart belongs to Lake Ouachita....however, a girl has to do what a girl has to do sometimes in order to enjoy a day at the Lake.  The next time I go over to Lake Tenkiller I am going to sport a Red and White bathing suit and a Razorback hat just because I CAN!  LOL
Lake Tenkiller in Oklahoma

The water was still a little high and a few of the boat ramps were closed due to high levels and the water was very dirty.  We tooled around the water and then Joe opened it up for a rip roaring ride across the lake.  There were very few boaters out so it made for a pleasant day for us.  We were back home by 9.  Our boat is kept garaged at a Boat Storage located very close to our neighborhood.  This summer "my" plans are to be on the Lake EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND!

Today has been somewhat of a lazy day.  Although I have manage to do a little laundry and take a two hour nap.  Boy, I love Naps!  Wish I could take one every day.  Why is it little kids cry when it's time to take a nap but this GAW LOVES her naps?  Go figure, huh?
Too Funny

Just too busy to STOP and Nap!

Joe played golf today at Eagle Crest with his buddies.  Eagle Crest is a little jewel of a Golf Course located in Alma, Arkansas.  Truly breathtaking beautiful.

Eagle Crest
Nestled in the magnificent Ozark Mountains, Eagle Crest Golf Course was carved
from the natural landscape with one breathtaking view after another.
Designed by Mark Hayes, this 6869 yard course was created to excite the average golfer and challenge the expert.
Joe LOVES to play GOLF as much as I LOVE to shop.  Years ago he tried to convince me to take up golfing and he even gave me lessons. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....I bet he is glad I did NOT fall in love with Golf.  He has to have an escape!  I am glad he doesn't LOVE shopping because I also need my escape.  All is fair in the game of Love and War.  Amen?  Amen!  We both need our Escapes from one another.  Just sayin'

Have you ever just stopped and listen to your inner voice or your heart?  I have and what I have learned is although I am a natural happy person and living a content life, I am not living my authentic self!

Everyone has a purpose, a drive, a reason for being here on this great Earth. The key to living your true authentic life is knowing who you are as a person first and secondly finding your purpose in life which will result in living out your passion.

My passion is fashion and home decorating!  Recently I have discovered that I love to write too.  If I put all of these elements together I would love to be either a Fashion Stylist, an Interior Decorator, an Event Party Planner or a writer about all three of my loves.

My personality type is very creative so the field that I have chosen as far as my career of advertising sales allows me to be very creative.  I have a lot of fun writing scripts for commercials and coming up with the creative aspect of the actual commercial.  However, it does not involve Fashion, Interior Decorating or Party Planning.  Hmmmm.....I wish there was something I could do to live out my passion!   Only time will tell the direction of my life.  I have been in advertising sales for 16 years and it has been a very fruitful career for me and my family.   However, My Passion.....

The excitement I get with helping others find certain items to complete an outfit, or the perfect menu for an event, or the key items in helping with their interior decorating is where my HEART sings to my authentic self.  I LOVE IT!

Right now I am searching for a pair of silver wedge sandals to go with an outfit which I have styled for myself for a special summer outfit that will be worn either on a casual Friday at work, a date night or while on vacation.    Silver Sandals are hard to find...at least the right pair of silver sandals.  STOP!  HOLD UP!.....Tonya Have you lost your ever freaking mind?  You ALREADY have the perfect pair of silver wedge sandals in your closet...DUH!  Last year I was shopping for the perfect silver wedge and a friend of mine told me about these wonderful wedge sandals by Vanelli but they were a little bit pricey at $130 for a pair of summer wedges.

Actually they are more of a platinum instead of true silver. But they are GORGEOUS!  So I did what any GAW would do...I stalked them like an EX Boyfriend until they went on sale at Warren's Shoes!  At the end of the season I STOLE these babies for under $30.00.  I remember calling my friend Janice and telling her Our SHOES were on sale.  She ran to the mall but unfortunately they did not have her size left.  It was a bittersweet moment.  I was overly joyous for my big WIN but felt somewhat sorry for her defeat.

In my opinion every woman needs a silver wedge in their summer shoe collection!  Treat it as a neutral shoe and wear it with all colors.  Remember when Black was the only Neutral Shoe a woman THOUGHT she needed?  Ha...How funny!  That is not the case this day in age.

Smokey eyes...I love the look and a few months ago I went to the Mac Cosmetic Counter and had my eyes done by one of the Mac Artists.  The look was very dramatic.  Too dramatic for everyday wear but I did pick up some good pointers.  I love the smokey eye look for evening...

These are NOT my eyes but this is the SMOKEY LOOK
Speaking of eyes.  My husband has been blessed with beautiful blue eyes and has amazing long eyelashes that I envy.  His eyes are the perfect size for the SMOKEY LOOK...Hmmmmm!  Maybe he will let me practice my new found techniques from the Mac Artist on him first as a Guinea pig?  Right?  WRONG!

I snapped this picture one night while he was sleeping.  His right eyelashes curl up naturally and the left ones just sort of go with the flow....sort of like my hair.  You never know from one day to the next what my hair is going to do.  In this picture it appears his right eye is lash less but they are just naturally curled up.  LOL  He would kill me if he knew I posted this picture.  Joe says he doesn't read my blog.  This will be a test.  Let's see if he says anything about his eyes being featured on my SMOKEY LOOK topic.

Tonight is the Finale of the Orange County Housewives.  The guys are going to watch the NBA Finals so I will be force to retreat back to my bedroom by my loneliness to watch TV in the peace and quite.  HAHAHAHAHAHA  I LOVE IT!

In closing I would like to say, Listen to your inner voice and your heart.   Live your life with a purpose, a drive...no matter how big or trivial you may think your purpose might be;  your inner voice is speaking to you.  It is the key to Living your authentic life and will create a happier version of you.  Live your life to the fullest!  Your purpose is waiting on you.  Go after it with much desire!

Oh and one last thing!  Shop your closet first... the item you are looking for could be right under your nose!

Ch Ch Ch CHANGES

I am ready for a CHANGE!  A change with my coif...as a woman one of the easiest things we can do to alter our appearance is to change our hairstyle!  For the past hmmmmmmmm 20 years I have had basically the same style....Shoulder Length and Blond!  However, there was a one year window when I went a little hair "bipolar" and chopped it off in a inverted stacked bob and dyed it a dark shade of auburn.  It was okay but it was not "my look".  My natural color is brunette with reddish undertones.  LOL...Well, now it would be more grayish undertones!  At any rate, my hair has always been about the same with some minor revisions to keep it current.  Here are some of my favorite blond styles I am currently loving.

I've had this cut before

I love this look or maybe it is just her Gorgeous Smile that I love!
Heather Locklear the Classic American Blond
Carrie Underwood: Long Layers and full bangs that "Swoop" Over her Eyes
Jennifer's New Style "The Inverted Bob"
I don't know who this actress is but I like the fullness of her hair.  Being a Girl from the 80's I can appreciate BIG HAIR
Jessica Simpson One Length Shoulder with side bangs

Reese Witherspoon Bob with Soft Finger Waves

Honestly I love all of these looks and at some point I have worn my hair basically each way.  Maybe it's just the Heat outside that is making me think I need to cut my hair? Ladies, just like going to the grocery store on an empty stomach...DO NOT CUT your hair in the HEAT of the moment!  You will regret it! Oh well, let's move on to something worthy of your time.

Most people know that I Love to Cook, Bake and Entertain.  Here is a little something I would like to share with you about the way I eat Red Meats.

First and foremost, the only way I will eat a Steak is if it is Medium Rare.  I am not one of those sissy girls who wants her Steak Burnt to a crisp.  The best way to prepare a steak is with a little Red in the center to keep the natural flavoring intact which if grilled properly you will not have to use a steak sauce.  The marinade that is used in the beginning of the preparation is the key to flavor.  Also, another trick; after you get done grilling your steak, remove it from the grill and let it breath for about 10 minutes before serving it to your Dinner Guest.

The reason you want to allow your steak to "Breath"?   Breathing will allow the juices to lock in and absorb to the texture of the meat.  This will give your steak it's optimum flavor!  No steak sauce required...plus as most know it's an insult to the Chef to ask for Steak Sauce!

However, it is not an insult to ask for Horseradish....Horseradish will intensify the flavoring too!  The best Horseradish Sauce on the Grocer's Shelf is by Boar Head.

This is a shout out to all you Fashionistas!  Ladies, do you remember the Shoe Brand Sam & Libby?  Well today I learned something about this brand.  Sam & Libby were actually a husband and wife team.  They launched the shoe line Sam & Libby in 1987 and sold it in 1996.

The husband and wife decided to raise Arabian Horses.  After a few years Sam decided that his love of designing shoes was still a passion.  In 2004 Sam launched Sam Edelman Shoes.   His shoe lines can be found in department stores and boutiques.  Visit http://www.samedelman.com/  The price point for these shoes are some what expensive.  Okay, Okay, I know you're thinking what in the sam hill is this woman talking about tonight....she is all over the map.  From blond hairstyles, to steaks to shoes!  Ha!

Here is the best part!

Sam's wife is Libby and she also is designing shoes.  Her line is Libby Edelman.  Her shoes are just as blinged out but at a fraction of a price!  WHOOOOO HOOOOO!  You can see her styles at http://www.libbyedelman.com/

Both lines are wonderful...here is an example of shoes and the difference in price points!

You'll be the baddest girl in the whole dang town when you step out in these wild wedge sandals from Sam Edelman

  • Diamonds may be a girl's best friend... But beautiful baubles are a diva's delight! Enjoy all the looks you'll get when you step out in these wild wedge sandals!

  • Okay, so here is the Truth of the Tale!  I tried on both of these wedges today!  They are both equally cute and equally comfortable and I honestly loved both of them.  However, the animal print wedges by Sam Edelman were retailed at $150 while the blue wedges by his wife Libby Edelman were retailed at $79.95!

The next time you see a pair of Sam Edelman's that you are lusting for...just browse online at his wife's designs for a half the cost!  WOW!  Here is a Tonyaism:  they are man and wife and sleep in the same bed.  They share everything together.  They discuss and talk "shop"! Both of these lines are exquisitely designed and very comfortable.  In my opinion Sam is capitalizing on the woman's weakness.  Libby however being a conscious shopper is keeping it real!  As a woman who loves shoes what would I do?  I would buy two pairs of Libby's for the price of one pair of Sam's!

Sam & Libby....did you ever have a pair of their infamous ballet flats from years past?  I bet you did!

    It's a WRAP

Summer Time and the Living is Easy!  I LOVE Summer and I Especially Love being around Water.  Whether it's at the Lake, a Tropical Resort, Pool Side, the Buffalo River, the Sunny White Beaches around the coast of Florida or California or just a simple afternoon at the Water Park!  I come ALIVE around Water.  During the Winter months I dream about the days of leisuring lounging around the pool, with my shades on, my favorite adult drink in hand (you know the ones with the the tiny umbrella)?  Got the picture?

Maybe it's because I grew up at Lake Ouachita during the Summer Months on the Weekends or the fact my parents had a swimming pool and everyday I would stay out swimming until dark thirty....or maybe it's because I am an Aquarius and my symbol is the Water Bearer....no matter the reason I LOVE water and I LOVE Summer.

Being a Fashionista also means I am in love with bathing suits, cover ups, hats and sunglasses.  After all a GAW has to look good!  Right?  Right!  Don't get me wrong,  I am really concerned with protecting my skin and face so you will never see me out in the sun without a hat and sunglasses to protect my skin. So with that being said, if you got to cover it up it might as well be covered up beautifully!

Each Summer I wait until the end of the season to stock up on cute bathing suits and cover ups.  The best time to buy is at the end of the season for great savings.  All you have to do is pack away your pretties until next Summer and Violia...you are ready to hit the beaches with all your glory!

Oh MY GOODNESS...I am in LOVE with this Ombre Blue Silk Tunic!  Just looking at this is burning my eyes! It is so Stinking Cute and I am going to stalk it like an EX Boyfriend until it goes on sale!  It will become a part of my Summer Collection of Cover Ups.  I CAN imagine wearing this while on vacation at a tropical resort for Lunch with my bathing suit on underneath.  I am getting so EXCITED!  Can you feel my excitement level?   I am IN LOVE!  WOW....Amen?  Amen!  My blood pressure just went up!  Okay, if there are any guys reading this blog; just imagine hitting a hole in one, catching a Big Mouth Trophy Fish, Killing the BIG BUCK!  Oh yes...now you know why I am so excited!  Let's move on to the next little number!
